Lucky's Doughnut FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is there a minimum value for online orders?

Yes. The minimum order for online pre orders is $28.00.

Is there a maximum?

Yes, 15 dozen is the maximum you can order online. For larger orders, please call any of our stores.

Do you deliver?

No, we don’t. We offer pick-up only. However, we have partnered with Uber Eats to allow for a limited but convenient delivery option.

Do you cater and do special events?

Absolutely! We love providing doughnuts for our customers’ events to make them a little extra special. Check out our Catering section for more details.

I want to order a doughnut but I don’t see it on the site. How do I order it?

Our menu is seasonal and it changes with ingredients’ availability throughout the year. If you don’t see the doughnut you are looking for on our website, it means it’s not currently on the menu.

There was a problem with my order, what’s the best method to contact you?

Mishaps can happen. Please fill out the contact form and someone will get back to you within the next 48 hours.

Are your doughnuts Vegan or gluten friendly?

Yes, we now offer two varieties of Vegan and Gluten Friendly Doughnuts, a cocoa base and a plain base with a variety of glazes and toppings on them.

Why are they labeled as Vegan Gluten "Friendly" rather than Vegan Gluten "Free"

We use the term “friendly” as we do not add any animal or glutinous items, however our VGF items are prepared in Kitchens which do use ingredients harmful to celiac and lactose intolerant individuals. Due to the risk of cross contamination we prefer to use the term “Friendly”

Do you use a pre-measured mix?

No. We make everything from scratch at our kitchens. This means everything is weighed out, mixed, rolled, fried and glazed by us using fresh ingredients
and original recipes.

How fresh are your doughnuts? Does each Cafe make their own?

Very fresh. All of our locations are equipped with a full kitchen and doughnuts are made on site daily.

Why are there different doughnuts at different cafes?

Depending on the location, our kitchen managers like to create new recipes and offer special doughnuts on occasion. If you are lucky to be at one of our cafes at the right time, you may get to try some of their original creations.

Why can’t I order brunch food at your Main St, Kitsilano & Lonsdale locations?

When we were in the planning stages for our location at Thurlow and West Georgia, we knew that we wanted to change things up a bit and extend our menu. This meant we had the ability to properly outfit the kitchen and have a full savoury team preparing these items fresh to order. Our Main St, Kitsilano & Lonsdale locations simply do not have the equipment to produce these menu items.

Are you and 49th Parallel Coffee Roasters the same company, what’s the deal?

Lucky’s Doughnuts is a sub-brand of 49th Parallel Coffee Roasters that is exclusive to 49th Cafe locations.

How do I apply for a job?

Check out the Careers page on the 49thcoffee.com website for current openings.

About the cocoa nibs

Once cacao beans are picked and roasted, they're separated from their husks, then broken into pieces. These are cocoa nibs. To make chocolate, the pieces are ground into a thick paste called chocolate liquor, which is combined with cocoa butter and sugar. But these bits of bean can also be used to add a subtle chocolate flavor and soft crunch to baked goods and savory dishes.
